Backwoods!
Dates: July 12th – 16th
Grades: 6-8
Cost: $260.00/$300.00/$340.00
A Backwoods
week is a week spent in a small, tight-knit, community of friends.
You’re joined together by experience out at
our Tee Pee village where you learn to cook your own food, develop basic
wilderness skills, and share in faith and fellowship.
Along the way, you’ll have a chance to
venture up into our high ropes course and climbing tower, hike
throughout the canyon, and build on new and returning friendships. How
well do you remember sleeping on a bed? Now how well do you
remember sleeping in a tee pee, helping cook meals with your friends,
and swinging from trees on a high ropes course?
The Backwoods session
layout is designed to meet 5 goals:
To bring in a
fun unifying faith curriculum (morning message, part of vespers, and some special
activities)
To have time for each child to be able to share things
with their cabin, and feel they are individually
know and important (evening vespers - the whole day too - but
specifically vespers)
To bring the whole Pathfinders session of
campers together as friends
To share in adventure that helps create
new friendships, build confidence, find ways to support each
other, and
hopefully help them realize the potential inside them is greater than
they ever knew.
To develop outdoor skills that in turn support one's
self confidence and team unity.
To get an idea of
what a camp day might look like...
